Morningside overlooks the harbour entrance to the east and
wave ravaged promontory and towering cliffs of Sandsend Ness
to the west. To the north are the rolling waves of the
North Sea, dotted with yachts, pleasure craft and local
fishing boats. You can stroll down the two piers and there
are fish all year round for the keen fisherman to pit his
wits against.
Exploring the surrounding countryside of the North Yorkshire
National Park can only add to the enjoyment of your
holiday. Tiny villages dot the heather covered moors and,
for a touch of contrast, you can enjoy one of the forests
that are also in the surrounding areas.
You can also check out the ruins of the cliff top Whitby
Abbey and wander the cobbled streets where you can ‘shop
till you drop’. |
